What Does a Good Newsletter Look Like?

  • positions you as an expert who’s
  • there to help them.

This isn’t a salesy letter, not a “here’s why we’re the best” letter, and definitely not a “here’s why the competition’s no good” letter, but a newsletter that provides real value, one that your customers will want to read.

Here’s What To Do

  1. Set up an account with an email marketing provider. For most of our clients, we strongly recommend MailChimp.
  2. Set up your list, including email addresses, names, customer segments, etc.
    1. If you have a website, include a sign-up form on your website.
  3. Design your newsletter template to reflect your brand.
    1. If you have a website, make your newsletter look similar and include links to the website in your template.
  4. Decide how often you’ll send your newsletter, what you’ll write about, and who will manage the process. Make sure you have the resources lined up in advance!
  5. Create your content, including updates, important news, photos, and more.
  6. Send out your email, monitor results, analyze the data, and make adjustments for your next newsletter.
  7. Repeat steps 5 and 6 at least every month.
